In genau 4 Wochen starten wir. Das ist soweit sicher. Aber womit??
Der VW-Bus hat noch TÜV bis 2/2016. Da werden wir aber noch unterwegs sein. Deshalb war er jetzt in der Werkstatt, damit festgestellt werden kann, was denn so gemacht werden muss, um jetzt schon die TÜV-Plakette zu erhalten. Das Ergebnis ist niederschmetternd: eigentlich alles! 😭 Und für so viel Geld, dass es sich gar nicht mehr lohnt. Und in die schottischen Highlands lässt uns unser Werkstattbesitzer mit dem Bus im jetzigen Zustand auch nicht fahren, viel zu gefährlich. 😱
Nun sitzen wir seit Freitag vor dem Computer und suchen nach bezahlbaren Alternativen. Leider ist ein gebrauchter T4 ein sehr begehrtes Modell und entweder a) sehr, sehr teuer oder b) mit hoher km-Laufleistung und immer noch teuer oder c) schon älter und auch teuer oder d) günstiger, dafür reparaturbedürftig!
Diese Woche wird also bestimmt sein vom Angucken und Vergleichen verschiedenster Alternativen. Heute ist der erste Bus schon durchgefallen: zu sehr Wohnmobil, zu schmale Schlafstatt.
This is definitely a catastrophe: the Green Thing didn’t pass it’s presentation for inspection. They detected so many defects that the repair costs would be far too high regarding the car’s age and appearance. 😭 And on top: even now (the car’s got it’s number plate licence til February next year) our mechanic wouldn’t allow us to travel through the Scottish Highlands with it, too dangerous. 😱
We’re trying to find an alternative, but the used cars are demanded, so they are really expensive the younger they are and the lower the mileage is.
We’ll spend the week inspecting some of the internet offers we found in real life. The first one today failed: too much of a mobile home with a too narrow bed.
